The term exigent is defined as, “requiring immediate attention; pressing; urgent.”
This is precisely how brands should view their communications strategies – and how many smart brands do. All brands have a story to tell, and as we state on the homepage, telling that story to the right audience, at the right time and across the right medium is key.
The term “breaking news” may come to mind. Often, when executing media relations, there is a sense of urgency to provide the reporter, editor or outlet with the source they need at exactly the time they need it. This is also the rush many PR pros feel when assisting a client in contributing to a breaking news story, or landing the client some very coveted ink.
